Therefore, the model needed to be flexible and adaptable to account for these variations. Additionally, the model had to be implemented in a way that could be easily integrated into the company's existing operational processes. <h2>Our solution: artificial intelligence for sales forecasting</h2> Our solution was the implementation of a predictive artificial intelligence model. This model was trained using the company's historical sales data from the past three years, allowing it to identify trends and patterns in sales. AWS ECR offers robust security features, including integration with IAM for access control, making the management of our images more secure.</li> <li> Deployment on Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS): The final step involved using Amazon ECS, a highly scalable container management service that allows running and managing distributed applications on container architecture. We configured ECS to automatically orchestrate the deployment of containers based on the Docker images previously uploaded to ECR. This includes defining tasks, services, and using clusters to control and scale application instances according to demand.</li> </ol> Thanks to this structured approach, we benefited from greater operational efficiency and better application availability. The combination of Docker, AWS ECR, and ECS facilitated the management of the deployment lifecycle, from building the image to releasing it in production, ensuring horizontal scalability for variable workloads and flexibility to quickly adapt to the evolving needs of our project. <h2>The product we created</h2> Our product, a web API, integrates easily into business processes to provide precise sales forecasts through a predictive artificial intelligence model. The API is intuitive, customizable, and enhances sales forecasting, production optimization, and inventory management. Here is an example of a chart created to estimate sales forecasts for a specific type of pasta on a monthly scale. The data shows actual sales with the black dot, the estimated sales average with the blue line, and the margin of error with the blue shade. The numbers above describe the accuracy of the estimate, in detail: <ul> <li>Mean Absolute Error: MAE is the average of the absolute value of errors between predicted and actual values. It is a way to measure how good a model's predictions are. For example, an MAE of 5 indicates that on average, the predicted values deviate from the actual values by 5;</li> <li>Root Mean Squared Error: RMSE is similar to MAE but gives more weight to larger errors. It is calculated by finding the mean of the squares of the errors and then taking the square root of this mean;</li> <li>Mean Absolute Percentage Error: MAPE is the average of the absolute value of the percentage error. It works similarly to MAE, but it calculates the square root of the mean squared error, which means smaller values have less weight.Finally, we have MAPE. In this case, its value of 0.56 indicates that on average, the prediction error is 56%. In particular, apps to improve our mobility are under rapid growth.A notable example is SiWeGO, an emerging start-up that focuses on parcel transport and the reduction of road traffic. The driver community using the app (professional and non-professional) gains both travel optimization and monetary rewards. Earnings are made by respecting the environment.The concept behind the app is transportation. The user decides to send parcels or to transport those of other people. Requests via the app are viewed by the SiWeGO community and are processed quickly at low cost. Questo modello doveva essere in grado di analizzare i dati storici delle vendite degli ultimi tre anni e utilizzarli per prevedere le tendenza delle vendite future. Questo non è un compito semplice, poiché le vendite possono essere influenzate da una serie di fattori, molti dei quali possono cambiare nel tempo. Pertanto, il modello doveva essere flessibile e adattabile per tener conto di queste variazioni. Questo passaggio è fondamentale perché consente di incapsulare l'ambiente di esecuzione dell'applicazione insieme a tutte le sue dipendenze in un'unità singola e portatile. L'immagine Docker è stata progettata per essere leggera e ottimizzata, garantendo così tempi di avvio rapidi e una gestione efficiente delle risorse.</li> <li> Caricamento sull'AWS Elastic Container Registry (ECR): Dopo aver creato l'immagine Docker, l'abbiamo caricata su AWS ECR, un servizio di registry Docker gestito che facilita lo storage, la gestione e il deployment di immagini Docker. AWS ECR offre robuste funzionalità di sicurezza, compresa l'integrazione con IAM per il controllo degli accessi, rendendo più sicura la gestione delle nostre immagini.</li> <li> Deployment su Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS): L'ultimo passaggio ha coinvolto l'utilizzo di Amazon ECS, un servizio di gestione container altamente scalabile che permette di eseguire e gestire applicazioni distribuite su architettura container. Abbiamo configurato ECS per orchestrare automaticamente il deployment dei container basati sulle immagini Docker precedentemente caricate su ECR. Questo include la definizione di task, servizi e l'utilizzo di cluster per controllare e scalare le istanze dell'applicazione in base alla domanda.</li> </ol> Grazie a questo approccio strutturato, abbiamo beneficiato di una maggiore efficienza operativa e di una migliore disponibilità dell'applicazione. La combinazione di Docker, AWS ECR e ECS ha facilitato la gestione del ciclo di vita del deployment, dalla costruzione dell'immagine al suo rilascio in produzione, assicurando allo stesso tempo la scalabilità orizzontale per carichi di lavoro variabili e la flessibilità per adattarsi rapidamente alle esigenze in evoluzione del nostro progetto. <h2>Il prodotto che abbiamo realizzato</h2> Abbiamo detto che il nostro prodotto, un'API web, si integra facilmente nei processi aziendali per fornire previsioni di vendita precise tramite un modello di intelligenza artificiale. L'API è intuitiva, personalizzabile e migliora la previsione delle vendite, l'ottimizzazione della produzione e la gestione delle scorte. Ecco qui un esempio di grafico realizzato per fare una stima delle previsioni di vendita di una specifica tipologia di pasta su scala mensile. I dati mostrano le vendite effettive con il punto nero, la media di vendita stimata con la linea blu, e il margine di errore con la sfumatura azzurra. I numeri in alto invece descrivono la precisione della stima, nel dettaglio: <ul> <li>Mean Absolute Error: MAE è la media del valore assoluto degli errori tra i valori predetti e i valori reali. È un modo per misurare quanto sono buone le previsioni di un modello. Ad esempio, un valore di MAE pari a 5 indica che in media i valori predetti si discostano dai valori reali di 5;</li> <li>Root Mean Squared Error: Il RMSE è simile al MAE, ma dà più peso agli errori più grandi. Si calcola trovando la media dei quadrati degli errori e poi estraendo la radice quadrata di questa media;</li> <li>Mean Absolute Percentage Error: Il MAPE è la media del valore assoluto della percentuale di errore. È come il MAE, però misurato in percentuale.</li> </ul> <img src="/static/image/grafico-vendite.png" alt="Grafico vendite">Nello specifico del grafico che si trova sopra, ci troviamo di fronte ad un MAE di 70. Questo indica che l'errore medio che è stato commesso nel corso del processo è di 70. In termini pratici, significa che ogni mese, se il valore che è stato predetto è 100, ci aspettiamo che il valore reale si trovi nell'intervallo tra 30 e 170. Questo intervallo si ottiene sottraendo e sommando il MAE al valore predetto (100-70 e 100+70).Successivamente, abbiamo il RMSE. Funziona in maniera simile al MAE, tuttavia calcola la radice quadrata dell'errore quadratico medio, il che significa che i valori più piccoli hanno meno peso.Infine, abbiamo il MAPE. In questo caso, il suo valore di 0.56 indica che in media l'errore commesso sulle previsioni è del 56%. Una delle sfide più grandi per la gestione di Taxi con conducente è il calcolo automatico delle tariffe. Soprattutto in caso di grandi città, possono esserci molte aree geografiche, ben diverse tra loro. La soluzione Per trovare una soluzione innovativa per il calcolo delle tariffe dei taxi abbiamo creato un algoritmo che permette di applicare la tariffa basandosi sulle aree geografiche, definite dinamicamente dall’utente semplicemente disegnandole su una mappa. Il punto di partenza sono stati i listini prezzo e i tariffari chilometrici, normalmente utilizzati. Durante la fase di calcolo del prezzo, l’algoritmo realizzato prende in considerazione solo le aree geografiche interessate nel tragitto scelto dal cliente (cioè i poligoni disegnati dall’utente). La logica di calcolo è personalizzabile, per esempio se il viaggio del nostro cliente attraversa differenti aree geografiche (quindi con tariffari differenti) il conducente può scegliere di applicare il tariffario con la maggiorazione minore. DanteApp si pone in questo settore, dando la possibilità agli utenti di cercare trasporti professionali in totale comodità, nel rispetto della legislazione italiana.La piattaforma copre tutto il territorio nazionale e si estende agli stati limitrofi.
